About PDEP
PDEP is a fun, interactive program that strengthens relationships, promotes healthy child development, and teaches parents how to resolve conflict without punishment or violence. It is a universal program for all parents and caregivers.
- PDEP is based on two pillars:
- Scientific knowledge of children’s emotional, cognitive, brain and sexual/gender development.
- Children’s rights to protection, dignity and participation in their learning.
Parents gain knowledge and skills to scaffold their children’s learning, manage their stress, and resolve conflict in positive ways that respect their children’s level of understanding and their individuality.
Participants are welcome regardless of their child’s age – from baby to teenager. They will meet in a small group (10-14) for weekly 2-hour sessions over 9 weeks. Across the highly interactive sessions, they learn how children develop, how to manage their stress, and how to resolve conflict with children in positive ways.
