Who delivers PDEP?

"

PDEP is a group program delivered to parents and caregivers by Certified Program Facilitators who are staff of not-for-profit organizations. The program is intended to be as accessible as possible, so it is offered at no cost as part of agencies’ regular programming.

As part of its trauma-informed nature, PDEP is always delivered by pairs of Co-facilitators who usually work at the same agency.

Individuals who wish to become PDEP Program Facilitators participate in a 5-day training that takes them through the entire program, provides additional background information, allows them to practice their skills, and helps them prepare to deliver their first program to parents.

Before, during and after they deliver their first program, these Program Facilitator Candidates receive online mentorship from a Senior Trainer. They receive support in planning their program, preparing for their sessions, and addressing challenges. Program Facilitator Candidates also collect evaluation data from their first parent program.

At the end of the mentorship period, Program Facilitator Candidates are recommended for certification by PDEL. Once certified, Program Facilitators may continue to co-deliver the program through their agencies to parents in their communities on an ongoing basis.
